Kseniya Rai

About

Kseniya Rai is a contemporary visual artist whose practice has been shaped by living and working across Ukraine, Portugal, Germany and Cyprus. These cross-cultural experiences inform her visual language, perspective and artistic approach.

She has been drawing and painting from an early age. Raised in a family with a strong artistic heritage — her grandfather was a professional artist — visual art has always been part of her life. Painting became her full-time professional practice about five years ago.

Artist statement

Kseniya Rai’s practice is rooted in intuition, observation and the search for visual forms that exist beyond literal representation. Rather than illustrating ideas, she creates paintings that invite reflection, allowing meaning to emerge through colour, texture, composition and symbol.

Working primarily in oil, she develops her paintings as interconnected series, where each work expands a larger visual language. Her process is driven by exploration rather than certainty, balancing spontaneity with structure and leaving space for multiple interpretations.

For Rai, painting is a way of understanding the invisible forces that shape human experience. Each work becomes an open dialogue between the artist, the viewer and the subconscious — offering not answers, but space for contemplation.

Collections

More than 300 original works by Kseniya Rai have been sold through galleries, international auctions, online platforms including Saatchi Art, Artsy and 1stDibs, and directly to private collectors. Her paintings are held in private collections across Europe and the United States, including the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
